If I ever have an urge or need to overclock my rig,,and video card..which at present I don't really have a need for also....( a last Gen card..), I will look you up Midknyte as you seem to have a good handle on this operation......
I have the Riva tuner and GE Force tweak utility ...but haven't really played around it much....but of course if I had a 6800GT and knew it waas very overclockable..I would probably do the same....
Fantastic score though....
Do you actually make use of this seup for playing your games..and what are the results there?
I bet with that setup....a game like FarCry would look and play awesome...;)
what do u use for OCing midkyte. i use ati tool. since it scans for artifact as well.
I use coolbits 2.0. Rivatuner is a really good app as well. I only run it that high for benchmarking. My normal setup is 400/1100/1.3v core. That is basically Ultra speeds.Quote:

Farcry looks sweet with all the features turned on. The water effects, grass, etc. look way more realistic.
Just for the hell of it, I change the settings to "best performance" from the default. Got a 13710. I'll post a pic later if someone wants the scores/stats. I'm supposedly working right now.
I just use coolbits 2.0. Different drivers can help with artifacting. I found that the 66.70s had way less artifacting than the 66.81s. Once you see artifacting, you should lower your speed by about 5mhz. that should be solid.Quote:

you'd be extremely lucky to hit 1000 points my guess is about 800-850 pointsQuote:

I just had to run 3dmark03 again with the 66.70 drivers and dx9c. new personal best is 13791.
This time I included the whole screenshot with cpuz also.
u sicken me (jkz)
my last score i posted i think was 10813. i reinstalled some drivers got a sweet overclock combination and i got an 11351!! hwo good is that.
that is an X800 pro. ive read an article where i can turn it into and X800 XT with a light pen so im buying a light pen lol.
ill get ya'll a screenie.

here is mine at
800x600 @32 with 2AA is 4192
that is amy card can do well
at 1024 x768@32 with 4AA 3290
video card is a Geforce Fx 5600 Ultra 128meg
not bad for a junky video card
you should try 1024x768x32 w/ no AA. Because these setting is used by most users, so it is compareable...
Well the top one us close but with 2AA
well at 640@480x32 score is 4977
well at 1024x768x32 with N/a AA score is 3389
you see my strong resolutions the 800x600,640x480 my card is a junky card, for benchmarks, i can play all games fine benchmarks not really!
not bad for my little card, i am going buy a new video card for my birthday in April, i usally get total money from everyone around $300 may buy that tiem i can buy a 6800ultra
your a little short in $ in you want a 6800Ultra...they are going for more than $500.00.
I would consider a 6800 GT or even just a 6800 would be a big big jump up and handle anything out or coming out for graphics...
The 6800GT is the best bang for the buck ..but its still around the $400.00 price range ..while a 6800 would run around your $300.00 range.
Well i am hoping that my mom and steve will give me about 100 dollars, so it will be up 400 , maybe the price will go down!
yeah.. the 6800GT will be my next VC. It can be overclocked and will run the same as the Ultra with a little tweaking....
Beileve it or not..the card i have now..( FX5900 ) was going for around $380.00 top price when I git the one I have now for $198.00 ..which was a steal back then..( only about 10 months or so..). You can get the 68000GT for even less than $400.00 someplace when special offers appy like NewEgg.com or other site.
Worth the extra $100.00 ..because of what it does and has ) 16 PL's instead of 12 (6800 ) and OC'ing plus benchmarks don't lie...scores on 3D mark 03 of more than 1200 for some with good machines...
;)
W00t!!
New best score....finally breached the 11000 mark. ill try 05 now...
:D
AMD 64 3500
ATI AIW 9800 Pro
2 GB Kingston Memory
Default setting
3dmark03=6221:t
I notice how the 9800 Pro's seem to be at minimum about 400 benchmarks ahead of my card which is close to being equal.... ( I get 5840 + with a FX5900.
That processor helps out alot also... A tad bit higher in Op. than mine overall...and 64 bit, which doesn't hurt. ( wish I had one of those myself)
Imagine 600 benchmarks higher for getting a 6800GT...amazing.
1700+ @2.5Ghz

Haven't posted my score in a while, but bumped my CPU by a 5Mhz increment and beat my previous 5220. Yay me! :p
As for everyone with double my score...
"I mock you with my monkeypants!"
:-@
Keep your monkeypants on, please.
Just ran 3.6.0. Doesn't seem to make that much diff. The drivers make more of an improvement.

Oh HELLS YEAH! I'm getting a 6800 in a few days and gonna bump my memory to 1GB. My monkeypants will be kept on for the time being my friend.
Bring it!
edit: 3.8Ghz *gulps* 431/1210... jeez!

Yeah, the Leadtek 6800... my mate just got one from the place i'm getting it from. Unlocked the 16 pipelines and vertex shader in a snap and is getting near 12,000 in '03 (Athlon-M 2500 @ 2.2Ghz, 512MB Ram, etc). Price/Performance ratio is fantastic for £175. Only downer is 128MB of memory, but with a 400/900 overclock, i think i can handle. 2.5Ghz and 1GB should bring me well into the 12,000 category.
\m/ METALLLLLL! \m/
heh
As per your Reguest Mid, I downloaded the drivers VXG 71.24 and ran 3dMark03.
Umm think you might be happy to try these out, my HL2 runs way better and Vampire Bloodlines.
oh ye sorry the score right :)
14890.
Dang. Your card is clocked below mines too. definitely gotta be the drivers. I may have to try those out myself. ;)
Crazycrusher.. That is the highest score I have ever seen here.
Exactly what card are you running and what is it overclocked to..??
it would be so nice to be able to read all of you guys score sheets..except.. ITS TOO DANG SMALL! ;)
Yeah, i second that. Can someone link me to Futuremark's database please.
what do you mean small? if you click on the picture, you can make it full size. there's a box with 4 arrows to expand the picture.
it's the VXG modded drivers that are making the difference for sure.
Midknyte...thanks for the heads up...it does get bigger using the enlarge box...
So you have a P 4 3.2 GHZ ..over clocked to almost 3800 and you have your 6800GT overclocked also??
Do you have it opened to run at Ultra settings to start??;)
Ah, i remember now, ORB. Install the patches for '03 and '05 guys.
The 71.24A VXGs didn't make a difference for me. hmmm. oh well. It could be heat throttling, so I'll try lower core speeds later. Too sleepy right now. In any case, good job, CC. :) I'm still perplexed as to how your card scores higher when I have about a 20mhz higher core and 80mhz higher memory. Could you include a pic of cpuz (or something similar) in the screenshot? 3dmark is gpu intensive, but it's nice to know what the cpu is running at.
I flashed the bios to run at ultra speeds. You need to have the same memory speed for 2d/3d, but the core speeds can be different. It's just one of those things.
I only crank it to 437/1210 for benching. 400/1100 is way plenty for now.
I don't usually OC the cpu either, since i get plenty of speed as it is. At least I know I can push it later.
Ism confused to now, that my clock speeds are set slower than yours Mid and yet mine is higher, just to be curious what settings are you running yours at?
So just so you no mine was not at default, I changed my screen Rez to 800X600 and no sound test.
Is this what made me get so high?
tee hee. was that said like that on purpose???Quote:
