and I thought that the score sucked gee thanks for the compliment it just goes to show you can have a celeron and still get a good score.

This is the 3dmarko3 thead, u posted your 3dmark2001 score...thats why it looks to be high.
Yea, thinking about it that is a GREAT score for that rig. My last run was:
AMD 3200 XP at 12*200 1.65 v w/ Vantec Aeroflow
NF7-S 2.0 Mobo
1 Gig Corsair XMS 3200C2PT Platinum
ATI 9800 Pro w/ Arctic Cooler Silencer stock settings and oc'd to 444 and 756
So my system is ~ to a 3.4 Intel
Memory at 8-3-3-2.5: 5,818 and 6,574
Memory at 6-3-3-2: 5,828 and 6,556
Just ran it on a system in back:
AMD 2400 Stock
FIC Mobo
TI 4200 128 meg
512 no-name PC2100
Got 1400, even.
Are you running the full test? Or is your vid card oc'd like a mother?? Or running 01?
nope the video card is not overclocked the only thing that is the processor
u posted the your 2001 score, its says at the top of your post.
Then thats not that good of a score. I get 9099 on my 2400 and 19,460 on my 3200.
maybe the celeron is the reasonb for this low score. a celeron is allways slow, even when you oc it to 3ghz.
Maybe that is your 3DMARKS 01 SE scoreQuote:

with everything as low as it will go I get this score!
intel celeron 2.4ghz@3.05
512mb pc2100 DDR
xtasy ti4600
80gb samsung 5400rpm hard drive
is this a good score? I was looking back at some of the other scores and realized mine wasn't so bad.
It is, if you look at the top of the post you can see "3dmark2001 second edition"
667 3d mark 03
4519 3d mark 01
AMD ATLHON XP 1800+
256 DDR(266)
ATI RADEON 9200SE
One question has haunted me....why does 3D Mark 04 use such an awful mix of games or testing graphics to run these tests...witht all the great cicnematic things aout there and the vast variety of good games...notably the most popular that people play...why do they use these games or graphics that nobody or the general populace uses???
What they need to do is to re-structure the whole thing and include interfaces that can enable the use of AA and AF among other factors...along with a parlay of samples of the more popular and demanding games...or video graphics...
I just have the Demo of PC Mark 04 and don't know if this is any better....
With a new HD and more ram ( 1 GB total ) my mark went up some...but not as much as I would have hoped...5887...running on a P4 2.8 800FSB.....1 GB Corsair Platinum Low latency PC3200..with 2326 timings....and a Seagate7800 8MB cache HD..running on a ASUS p4P800 deluxe Mobo..
( this is done on performance setting with no AA or AF on )
Also , I do not understand the nature of using the sound to determine the outcomes either..is this possibly related to performance or what??
3DMark uses no real games, it just usese game scenes, which where created just for 3DMark.
The sound test is just for testing the perfomrance loss from the sound card. it is not used for the final score. only the game tests are used for the final score.
Has anyone used 3D Mark 04 ?? I think I read from some you viewers that it somehow didn't show a true test of as the earlier version or whats up with this?? I think you can download the full software and key for about $30.00 online..and more for the CD sent to you..
I ran my tests and am hjappy with the results and know what my card and system can do for the most part..so I do not know what true value there would be to have this program ...
It is much bettter to have some programs like Sis Sandra or Aida installed to see what your system is up to and its workings....it has the basic integer numbers to compare in its utility for the video.... Everything in my system is on the highest top of the scales..so thats good enough for me....
Ill take a free version, but Im not paying $30 for a software program to throw an arbitrary number at my system strength.

intel celeron 2.4ghz@3.0
512mb DDR pc2100
xtasy visiontek TI4600 128mb DDR AGP 4X (with the new Omega drivers)
so what should I change or do?
you should have about 1800. turn of AA and AF. and disable v-sync.
you have a DX8 card trying to run a DX9 benchmark.
your celeron at 3G is still only about as fast as a P41.8A.

Upgrade the cpu to a P4 and get a new video card. you probably need to replace the ram also to match the CPU.
oops, i didnt see, that he has a celeron. i thought it was a p4. w/ a celeron and his card the score seems to be ok.

The XT hasnt got fast clock speeds only i think. it also has more piplines and stuff like that. but youve got a great score yoshi and your CPU is oced.
im thinking that if i put that card into my bro PC will his AMD 2600 hold the card back???
MY 3dmark
My score, just ran twice and got
2775. System is all default
Not sure how this rates overall or how I can better it.
I have FSAA 2x and AF 4X
System:
Athalon XP 3000
1 GB PC400 Ram
Radeon 9600XT
40GB HD
darn!!!! so close to beating yoshi and being the champ i got 10900 lol. for now that the best ill get though i think. i cant OC the graphics card anymore without the 3dmark test seizing lol, only cuase my PSU hasnt got enough juice. when the warrenty on the PC runs out then ill win.
No offense to you geeks who want to play the bestest game..but why is it necessary to overclock an already good card that surpasses everything out there anyway. There is no point in even possibly damaging a high priced card...only if your ego can't stand it..and thats pretty lame.
I never could stand people who have to constantly brag and be outspoken about their need to beat everybody about something.
A real man does not need to brag or be so pompous.
Besides, 99% of the populace doesn't give a hoot...
Have Fun! Yeah????
Maybe because you can play UT204 w/ 4xAA instead of 2xAA @ 1600x1200...Quote:

i OC the card and then 3dmark it then i turn the setting back to normal to ensure -minimal damage is done. its a male ego thing, why have a bigger, faster car when you can only got 2 mph in traffic.
i mean playing the game totally fluid.Quote:

again this card is amazing you can play it fluidly at that even. it can handle any game currently at those settings. when doom 3 or half life 2 come out the story may change but i doubt it lol
6255 3DMarks
:t
what card you got nothing
It's an ATI 9800 Pro 128MB overclocked to 420.75/366.65.
