You know, what you have and your settings. The more, the better.
You should be getting a higher score then that, at least with "wat u av tol us"
:t
I did another test about a weekago and got a very low score ..on my system which waas way..lower than a previous test.....
I used 3D Mark 2003....
With a P4 2.8 and a FX5900 card....I should be gettingabout a 6500 score and above.. the first test I got 6687...the second was 5300+ something...
Maybe I switched parameters or something...
What should your AA andAF settings be on for this?
Unless you got your system and your vid card oc'd 6000 would be a decent score for your setup. 6687 maybe oc'd to 3.2 or 3.4?
Im running windows XP pro. 512 ddr 266? not sure of FSB lemme know and ill find out. Yea i know my comp should run better than it does ive put alot of money in my comp and i cant figure out why i get lag, which scares me because of HL2 and Doom 3 comming out
ANY help would be greatly appreciated

2400 @ 2.2 g? Have you oc'd your system? 5331 is a good score for your system as set up and with the memory. You can get more from oc'ing your vid card. Stock cooling should get you up to almost 410 core and 740-750 memory. SHould get your score to 55-5700.
Well i work with a guy from my company and he bought my parts through the wholesaler. And im not quite to sure of how to overclock my system. If you could point me in the direction of a good website for learning...or maybe even a book? itd be sick.
bf vietnams out!

PM Bigjakkstaffa, he wrote a real good how-to a while back for the forum. For your vid card use Rivatuner, download here:
http://www.guru3d.com/rivatuner/
or get the latest omega drivers, it's built in
http://www.omegacorner.com/
Here's that article mobo57 was talking about: http://www.sysopt.com/articles/VCOGuide/index.html
It's pretty good. :t
5474
P4 2.4A (400Mhz FSB)
Aopen AX45-V Motherboard
Radeon 9800Pro (398 Core, 344 Memory)
256MB PC2100 Ram
Is this a good score???
This is a good score for the Processor size and considering you are using PC2100 ram.....
6508
asus radeon 9800xt
athlon 64 3400+
asus k8v deluxe
2 512 pc3200 samsung
no oc'ing
64 has cool & quiet enabled
now that is more like the good score you want.....around 6500 and above are the top scores here...but its always dependent on ones system ....
How are the graphics with the 64 bit system?? ..I am curious.....
games look pretty to me, but i assume you mean something to do with 3dmark03?
Overclocked it to 420core/378mem using defualt settings i get 5840.
@AdamST:
If your mainboard has single channel, you should get PC3200 RAM. Your FSB has 400MHz*8=3200MB/s, so you should get PC3200 RAM ,which has also 3200MB/S in singel channel mode.
If it has dual channel, PC2100 is enough if you dont oc much, because this is 4200MB/s in dual channel mode.
I have treid to find out if your mainboard has singel channel or dual channel, but I didnt find anything. What chipset does it have?
Sis 645 chipset. Its an older motherboard board, it only supports PC2700 and only has a 4x AGP slot. Though i will be getting a stick of 512MB PC3200, so when i upgrade to a new board i can keep the ram.
[Edit]
My Aquamark3 score was;
GFX - 4,962
CPU - 4,879
32,900
But i have no idea if thats good or bad haha
New score..
XP 2600 @ 2.34ghz
ATi 9800pro

Ben:
You oc'd that vid card? Have you checked out the Arctic Cooler Silencer? 20$+- and can get you an additional 7%
I did another test the other night and was a little disappointed...only with this test as I think it is a pretty bad rep. of a true test....
I only got about a 5442 score and I have a high end system....
P4 2.8 @800FSB
Corsair XMS Platinum Pc 3200 w/512 in dual channel mode
Fx 5900 graphics card
It seems the people with the 9800 Pro graphics card have much higher scores overall......this is apparent.
My card is a good card and I like it alot...but there must be other parameters that my system is lacking somehow...
I have alot..and maybe too much stuff loaded into my system right now and this may slow some things down a bit..it remains to be seen
If I remember right..I did this same test about four months ago and I got a 6200+ score....
My card was running 432/382:pQuote:

Run a aquamark 3 test ya'll be much happier with your results. As that program seems to like nvidia cards.Quote:

Still wanna to overclock some and maybe speed up the 9800
not bad
:( everyone has Radeon 9800's and FX5900's
(im only envious if they have a Radeon tho ;) UP WIV ATI!!)
My 3DMark03 Score is ok at 5749 but my 3DMark2001 Score is 12500...Why is the 2001 score so low???????????
2001 is a full system test more than '03,Quote:

Its probably indicating a system bottleneck other than the gfx card. 3dmark03 has been proven to be more affected by the gfx card rather than the system
Yeah thats what i figured.
I am still very suspect about this benchmark...and for some reason..I do not like it all that much....specifics are not spelled out all that well...
What are your thoughts (all) about Aquamark 3 ,which seems like a much nicer benchmark tool....with much more data offered to give one a better analysis
There are also other benchmark tools such as SIS Sandra ,Aida32 and others .even though they are more total system bencmark tools...which I believe a persons system setup really affects the overall scores....
When I get my new HD and re-load my system..my scores will probably go up accordingly...quite a bit.
I tried 3DMark04..now thats a bad benchmark.
I don't know much about 3DMark2001, i havnt been using it very long.
You meant PCMark04?Quote:

There is no 3DMark04.
yes haha
My 3Dmark03 results:
5570
Specs:
P4 3.2
512 HypherX 4000 RAM
1 WD Raptor 74GB 10K RPM SATA HD
1 WD 120GB 7200 RPM 8MB Buffer ATA 100/133 (As secondary)
ATI 9800 PRO 128MB RAM
dalleman....with a fantastic system like that ..i would think your marks would be a bit higher....but i wouldn't fret over it...I have roughly the same scores in that area..and I have a slower drive , a bit smaller processor (2.8 ) and use PC 3200 XMS memeory....
I would think that your scores should be over 6000.....
Like I said....alot of overall system things seem to affect ones scores....who knows...
as long as everything plays and looks great..thats the main thing....
Being a scientific minded person, test data use variables of differing nature..depending upon the environment and how things react to it...I just take into account that some people or person made this program and I don't know anything abou their credentials in this area and what they used for test data overall.
Like everyone says, 3Dmark03 is more of a video card benchmark then a whole system benchmark.
I just got a VGA Silencer and with my 9800Pro set at 445/370 i get a 3DMark03 score of 6100.

Yet my system as a whole is not great.
P4. 2.4A @ 2600Mhz (433FSB)

@Rabbitrunner51: it only makes a differnece when you have more than PC3200 if you overclock. If you dont overclock, it is always the fastetst if you have the memory in sync in dual channel systems. It was different w/ the old P4 single-channel systems, because when the memory was in sync w/ a P4 in single channel, the memory had only have of the transfer rate of the FSB, because the memory is DDR, but the bus is QDR. When you have dual channel, the memory has the same transfer rate as the FSB when they are in sync. This is the reason why sync is the fastest.
The only advantage of emmory faster than PC3200 when you dont oc is, that it will maybe run at lower timings @PC3200.
Adam, thats still a good score with your system. I score 5600 stock and 64 to 6500 oc'd with my system:
AMD 3200 XP w/ Vantec Aeroflow
1 Gig Corsair XMS 3200C2PT
ATI 9800 Pro 128 w/ Arctic Cooler Silencer
K7N2 Delta ILSR
rest o' d junk
