Any ideas?????????????
Your not gonna get anythign fantastic with an FX5200 but still it shoudl be higher than that, when benchmarkign ensure that Antialiasing, Anisotropy and Vsync are all disabled

I have 3 comps
1*98SE, 2*XP home
They all have 3dmark 03 installed, and they are all individually downloaded, and they all come up with "System Error: System info error" when i click them, and then quit
cwin, which version you got, have you dled version 330?

Latest with more memory but, higher processor o/c and slower memory speed. Also, using a 7200rpm IDE instead of a 10,000rpm SCSI.
Hehe Ill but my puny score up too.
FINALLY i got meself a NICE fluffy card :D man that card is sooo fast and beautiful. Gonna buy a new cooling on it soon then gonna take the old heatsink and but it on my table :p

Hoping to get some more memory soon, as a lot of games are creating messages about low memory....:)
P.s. does any one know what kind of temperatures a p4 2.0 gig processor should be running at under load (playing 3d games).... mines running at round 40 c.... jus wonderin if this is normal?

I think the CPU has a Slight letdown on the 9800, i think a 3.ghz would increase the score a fair bit...
P.S,...this is without any tweaking what so ever...so im quite chuffed with the score lol
Naa...probably not. You could easy OC your CPU but will make very little difference to 3dmark2003 scores. Its mainly based on the power of the graphics card...so if you want to get higher...OC the 9800pro!Quote:

Let me remind that 3DMark2003 runs all on GPU (videocard) the CPU dosent madder much at all if any.Quote:

You should get 6k from stock but i guess 5500 without no OC is quite good.
hmmm,
i still get jerkovision in sum games like,...NFSU wen i wak everything up....which sucks lol....all i can think is that either i need 2 do sum major tweaking or need a faster cpu

lol, man, of course the CPU matters when benchmarking with 3dmark. WHy do you think people OC BOTH their CPU and video card? Your telling me that a 3ghz P4 with a 9800pro is going to run at the same speed is a 2ghz P4 with 9800 pro? WRONG! The CPU is just as important as the GPU when benchmarking with 3dmark2003.:t
When searching for a project on futeturemark, why do you think they have an option for you to select what CPU you want to compare your scores with?

Thats what I found......maybe 100-200 points difference. Woopie
LOl, yea not much.....but look at this way....in todays line of games a 3.0ghz CPU is gona give u higher frame rates than a 2.4 in a system like mine...,,
TBH anyone who takes benchmarking to seriously is stupid..,
The real benchmark is if u can manage to play upcomers like farcry at full eye sore beauty :)
The last time i check, 3dmark03 was for video benching, and cpu has little difference in the scoring. The benchmark itself is depended on the video card. :)
3dMark03 is meant to compare vidcards. It matters a lot less on the rest of yer system. 3dmark01 is more of a full comparation
didnt they do a test?
a 1.2ghz w/ a 9800pro
and
a 3ghz with a GeForce 4
or sumink..?
and the 9800 system won...
prolly got the wrong specs
bigjakk knows i think:t
Ace's Hardware did a test using a PII-350 and a P4 with a modern high end video card. I don't remember the exact results, but there was no real discernable difference despite the vast performance gap between the two CPUs.
PII350 w/Radeon 9700 Pro Vs P42.4Ghz with a ti4 series card if memory serves
The difference between the two scores was marginal
--Jakk:t
I noticed a 200 point jump taking my CPU from 2100+ to 2600+. Thats not even that high of an OC. I can't see a 350mhz CPU scoring as good as a 2.4ghz CPU. And this test is not all video card based, why do you think they have a test called "CPU Test" ?
http://www.aceshardware.com/read.jsp?id=60000242
There we go, been a long time since i read it hence the innacuracy with the previous post, however tell me 3000 marks out of a P350 when most people with 2Ghz CPU's cant achieve that sort of level is indicative of a benchmarkl which places equal emphasis on CPU and Video card in producing its scoring system
--Jakk:t
Ummm, I have a 1.73ghz CPU and can score 5XXX, well over the 3XXX mark you are saying.
Read the article, it clearly shows that 3dmark 2003 is firstly a measure of graphics card power (and direct X 9 graphics cards only really at that as show by its huge penalisation of the R8500 for lacking DX9 hardware) and secondly (and a very second class second at that) a measure of CPU power as signified by the fact that in the correct (graphics card) circumstances a PII-350 is presented (though we all know it isnt) as being more powerful than a 1.4GHz Celery.
CPU power is a very, very second class citizen to the power of ones graphics card when determining the performance rating of a system in 3dmark2003, for this reason i personally see it as being no use to those not using DX9 hardware Gfx cards and indeed doubt its worth as a benchmark full stop in that it only really caters for the top 10% of all machines at best in terms of usefullness
--Jakk
PS as ive said its all to do with your graphics card, if you put a ti4200 in with your 1.74Ghz you will be lucky to score 2000 Marks. I know this because ive used a ti4200 with a 2.3Ghz Athlon XP and pushed 1500 Marks at best
Proof that by running 3DMark03 on a Athlon, which is underclocked to 500MHz (100x5 should be possible w/ every unlocked Athlon on all better boards) w/ a GeForce FX 5950 or Radeon 9800XT and compare it w/ the score on an oced Athlon XP FX-51.Quote:

Considering I have a card that I only paid $200 for, it is a very respectible score. no oc. I just couldn't afford that nice little 9800xt. I wanted it so bad! :(

R9700 and an 2500+@3200+
:t
Weak eh??? about 100 points more on a very respectible system is not weak at all. Of course if you want to make fun of my gaming monster, that's fine.
hold on now... 3DMark2003 does not count cpu speed at all. Its the 3D Accelerator that counts there.
So looking at those scores.... my Radeon9700 beats the **** out of your FX5900
considering that my system cost a whole lot less then your Pentium system.
Pentium sucks anyways, too pricey and not that much speed gain if any.
Yea penitum suck! lol moron least the Intels don't LIE about there clock speeds...and have dated FSB clocks.... whats up with that anyway,...i mean the 2800+ just for example runs at 2.2ghz...i mean why the **** call it the 2800+
Oh yea and can multitask a hole lot better and are so much more stable
Iv done some tweaking and managed to get 6513 out of my
P4 2.4C on my Radeon 9800 Pro
heh... well if you would compare a 3.2GHz P4 and 3.2GHz AMD... i mean... itll be unfair :D I mean... my 2200MHz amd can beat P4 3GHz *** up pretty good.
btw moron, 3dmark2003 is not cpu related. so baisicly if u give me a r9800pro ill do 7k with it
what AMD runs at 3.2ghz?... even the new 3400+ is apparently gona run at 3.2,...and i dought ur board supports it for obvious reasons.
And saying that 03 is tottally not CPU related is a bit retarded seeing as there is a CPU test...which focus's on the cpu doing almost everything if not all of the work...
and dude uv OC'ed urs to 3200+...and mines just a bog standard 2.4C!...so the scores would level...cause acording to you 03 is not cpu related....rite? lol:rolleyes:
