Nothing is overclocked, that's just setting all the defaults to highest performance and turning off unnecessary background apps and services.
It's a Pally, I don't really want to overclock it.
But thanks for the votes of confidence :)
I will make ya all feel great My 3d mark score was 120 :D that was on my wifes machine I dont want to see my score on my machine :p
Hers is a 1 Ghz with 512 and a G force 2 mx200
mine is a P /// 450 with 384 and a 32 mb radeon VE
may I say a score of 20? :x
Well, I've finally got my 2.4GHz P4 in my system and can run this test. It wouldn't run at all on the 1.6GHz P4.
At any rate, here's my results:
4288 3DMark03
12,040 3DMark2001SE
Woo-hoo!!! Finally looking good. :D :D :D
It would seem that this score supports the theory that 9700's are geared towards this benchmark. I did have trouble with the first sound test--I heard nothing. The second test worked fine, though. Don't know if tweaking my sound card will produce better results. Any ideas as to what needs to be done?
Here's my system:
2.4GHz P4
MSI 645 Ultra MOBO w/ 450Watt PS
1024MB PC2100 DDR
Radeon 9700 Pro running Catalyst 3.2
Creative Labs Audigy Gamer
40GB Seagate HD @ 7200RPM
Yamaha CRW2200E
Windows 98SE running DirectX 9.0

not bad..
but actually i think you could definitely tweak some more. my roommate has a geforce4 ti4800 and athlon 1600@1.75 w/512mb ddr and gets over 12500 in 3dmark2k1. you could probably get at least 13-13.5k. im not as familiar with ati tweaking b/c im kind of an nvidia fan, but did you make sure that all of the settings are for max performance? i think the default settings are for a trade-off between quality and performance, i cant remember. change everything to highest performancec. did you check the bios and the driver setting to make sure the card is in 8X agp mode? make sure the agp aperature setting in the bios is set for half your ram, (or the highest setting). are you oc'ing the card as high as it will go? maybe the fact that your ram is only pc2100 could have something to do with it. you've probably done this stuff already, but if you haven't, its worth a try.
After BIOS mod on a ATI 9500 Pro, went from 3605 to 4179.

CPU temps never went above 55 degrees C.
system temps- 34 degrees C.
EDIT: got everything running correctly. the 1600xp running @1400 and the 4400ti not clocked and/or the 2700 ram.
basically stock settings.
new score: 1536
also got a new heatsink and cpu fan this weekend and the temps dropped to 47c idle or load.
HAHA underclocked to 1050? thats b/c your fsb speed is set to 100mhz. go into the bios and change it to 133 and it will register as an xp1600. if you have the pc2700 ram then you can overclock it by going higher. i have my fsb set at 160 and it registers as an xp2200 at 1.7ghz. try that and run 3dmark again...that should help :-P

??
How did you get such a good score 2003 and so low in 2001?
I'm using 2700@2574 ATI 9700 pro and P4 3.06@3624 G4 ti 4600
just under 18000 2001 on the 2700...2003 just under 4000
just over 17000 2001 on the P4 ........2003 just under 3000
Setting?
I can't explain it. Ever since upgrading to DirectX 9.0 and Catalyst 3.2 drivers, I've felt that my 3DMark2001 weren't that great. Upon installing the 2.4GHz P4, they rose considerably, and I was pleased. However, I was THRILLED by my 2003 score. I don't know what to say. I'm not so experienced with Benchmarking yet that I can hypothesize. Perhaps better minds than mine here on the board can explain. Anyone care to take a shot?Quote:
