I saw this for sale and was wondering if it will work on a BX motherboard like abit BE6. I remember reading somewhere about the new celeron 1.2 Ghz will require a different chipset to work with. I noticed that the "A" model was below the 1.2 but had the same cache size as the 1.2 so i'm assuming the core is same as the 1.2 and not the standard 128 cache Celeron core.
I'm pretty sure the 1.0A is the Tualatin core which is not compatible with older boards. Something to do with the VRM module.
Use should check on the motherboard's website. That should tell you what CPU's are supported.
I also have a 1000A/1A GHz processor and seem to have friedone board already. It is very hard to find definite specs for this chip, but I have been able to find out that the chip is a 0.13 micron with a tualatin core. The only board that I can find that specifies this chip is an intel 815EG that isn't too impressive. If anyone knows of a board that will push this chip, PLEASE let me know. The chip does have 256KB L2 cache and 1.45v core (I think-box says it does anyway).
This chip should be a screamer and excellent over-clocker on the right board and chip set. :confused: :rolleyes:
It won't work, unless you have a special adapter...I think powerleap or something like that makes one. There are different voltages and pin setting on the newer chips. I don't know if I would risk it though...I bought a celeron 800 when it came out hoping it would work in my BE6 but it didn't.
The Abit ST6 seems to be a good Tualatin overclocker.Quote:

Thx guys for the feedback. It's make me think twice now. Maybe it's just better to spend the same buck on an Athlon since the CPU price/clock speed is about the same for both. I just would have to buy a new mobo and ddr mem. Waiting for ddr mem price to get down a little lower.
Thanx GodFodda, I ahd looked at that one a few days ago but found a ECS P6VXAT for 50 bucks. Even if I totally destroy the board, I won't be out much. If all else fails, I'll probably go with the abit. I saw somewhere that someone had pushed this board(the ECS) and that Celeron 1A to 1333 MHz. Gonna hook it all up and watch the sparks fly!!! I'll keep you posted in how it goes. :eek: :D
