what speed you OC too?
ops forgot to post that lol
core 385 memory 1100. I changed drivers from 66.70 to 66.81
the 6800 GT has a pretty slow core doesnt it.
I got better scores with the 66.70s over the 66.81s. I think I gained over 100pts.
That's a mild overclock. 400/1100 would be ultra speed.
ye its a mild overclock, im just getting the feel for it, Im being safe for now :) untill I mod it. with the stock Heatsink/Fan how high would you say it could go? im going to change back the driver, are you using Nvidia or Omegas?
the default core clock for the 6800gt is 350mhz, which is 50mhz below the ultra.Quote:

low clock speeds yes but still awesome in games and benchy, Mid the driver your talking about is that just 66.70 not the 66.77 right if so have you got a link for that driver the only one I have from the Nvidia site is the 66.77.
i mean slow compared to the X800 pro which is 475 Mhz. i know that the 6800 GT is a better card. but i suppose it makes up for it with the pipelines.Quote:

Ok here are the results.
3DMark05 score: 4862
3DMark05 score.
2.8Ghz P4
1024 PC3200 RAM
PNY Geforce 6800 GT 256mb OCed [409 Core/1113 Mem]
Windows XP Pro
800mhz FSB
I know my score is really good for not OCing my Processor (cause I can't) Check it out!
I have also noticed that so far, it seems that the 6800 GT is the Video Card of choice so far on this forum. WOOT!!!
OK im confused madpistol (yes easily done :p ) but that link took me to a score of 4790 and a Intel Pentium 4 3398 MHz. if that is the speed of a 2.8 Ghz CPU then why doesnt mine run that fast!
have you posted the wrong link or just some mistake on your part with details.
is that the score you get with ure 6800GT stock speed. i guess so from the link but others stuff has been different on the link so just checking. if so its a great score.
that link is just to show you what I did. It's kind of hard to prove that it's my score though. Just look at the lighter system of the 2. That's mine. I have to say that I didn't honestly think I'd get this kind of a score. Of course, this score is with my vid card overclocked to 409 Core/1113 Mem (Normal 350/1000) . My actual score before OCing my Video card is about 4349. That's about where it truly stands.Quote:

Non-GPU Overclock: 4349
GPU Overclock [409 Core/1113 Mem]: 4862
Yes, Ocing the card makes a huge difference in the score (mainly because my CPU is kind of limiting the card itself right now.) I hope this puts some stuff into perspective. :t
id never imagine the day when 2.8Ghz limits. well im glad that me with an identical rig to yours bar the graphics card, mine being a X800 pro get a higher score :D.
not bragging just being happy.
sorry i didnt see that in ure original post!Quote:

Heh. I'm sure If I fine tweaked my card, I could get that score too. I'm no amateur to the GFX card realm, and I also know that in this run, excluding the X800 XT PE (which are insanely expensive) every card's performance is on par with their counterpart from the other company. Frankly, I'd give the medal to Nvidia this time for better support on their cards with SM 3.0. However, it'll be a while before we see a lot of games that use it, so I wouldn't worry about it for those of you who have bought the X800 series. :tQuote:

i only see one system on your link and this system is not yours.Quote:
