Maximum Size of an Email List

I belong to a club that send a newsletter out each month. The guy who does this says gmail only allows about 70 addresses per email. I looked up on the web and see that hotmail only allows 100. The club membership is between 250 and 300.

Anyone know of a way to send out an email to a list that large (with an attachment less than 1 Meg)?
