I was thinking about this to, does the PCI ex Video cards have the heatsink and fan facing the oppsit way then the AGP? if they dont will that not get in the way a little? and it may be pretty close to the bottom of your case not leaving alot of room for cool Air.
Overclocking strips eh? Sounds tasty. :p
Thanks...Quote:

what if you need more than two PCI slots
Why? Everything practically comes built on to the motherboard nowadays. And of course you might want to use your own components and save some CPU power, but let's get real - if you're willing to buy this board while the technology is still hot off the press, you're probably willing to upgrade all but two of your PCI devices to PCI Express. Am I wrong?Quote:

you could have a modem, sound card and a TV card and a video capture card, although the last two could be together. i dont think these things would be advantaged by PCI express
You could say the exact same thing about going from ISA to PCI if it were a decade ago. Yes, you could have all that stuff. You could buy a newer video card which has all the TV/Capture integrated, you could leave your sound card in one of those two slots, you could get a real internet connection and lose the modem (and use the onboard LAN adapter), or... you're going to love this one... you could just not buy one of these new motherboards.Quote:

That was a cruel way to put it but I guess my point is, if you're going to buy one for bragging rights, you can probably afford to make whatever other upgrades you need. If you need more PCI slots get a mobo with PCI slots, if you need more ISA get an old one, etc. etc. Get what you need instead of complaining about things you don't.
But we still have to wait on the cards to be made, tested and shipped. Then come up with some BIG bucks to buy them.
....not to menition the drivers for the cards......
I'm going to wait a year or so till it all gets sorted out. But when it does....It's going to be sweet:x
i was just making a point necide no need to get angry lol
I agree porscher good point
For users with more demanding usage of their pc i would say for most of the techies on here it woul dbe a noupgrade on this one
but for the average home user and bulk desktops they will hit the mark
I have a top end soundcard , im not using a cheap onboard motherboard version
I also need two network cards in my pc
Have as you say an integrated video in/out card
Scsi cdrom burner and Hp tape drive , optical drive on an Adaptec
that i need
External modems are always best but that stills leaves me short
No upgrade for moi
:-@
Mind you im still running a kt7araid xp2000 1gb pc133
fast enough for me
:t
I don't like the color :)
well unless you have a see through case you cant see the colour really.
