I reported the "connection" issue to the guys upstairs. Luckily I still haven't had any problems.
Broni has been contacted. Waiting to hear back from him.
Haven't heard from Martha. Don't think she's posted anything in a week.

What URL are you guys with issues using? I use either of these - mainly the second one.
http://www.sysopt.com/index.php
http://www.sysopt.com/forum.php
Broni said-> This is strange. It opens in Chrome and Opera but not in Firefox.
I have to investigate.
All of sudden, without any fiddling it opened in Firefox...hmmm
My wild guess...Firefox frowns upon sites not being httpS
Maybe that's the issue.
Good Catch.
I used two URL's.. http://www.sysopt.com and the off topic forum address http://www.sysopt.com/forumdisplay.php?21-Off-Topic
Both were down for about 15 minutes this am at 10:30 EDT.
I use Chrome based Vivaldi browser and also tested with Chrome and Waterfox classic when I wasn't getting in. None worked.
HQ guys are asking-> Can you ask him to try incognito in FireFox?
Don't have Firefox but I always surf Waterfox Classic in incognito mode and it did not connect that way.
I also tried with a VPN w/ a US address because why not and that made no difference.
This is the URL I was using: http://www.sysopt.com/
I tried with Waterfox Classic 2020.06, Firefox ESR 68.9.0, and Google Chrome 83.0.4103.116. It's intermittent, but I get the 2 broken page icons.
I use uBlock Origin, but it would get the broken icons with or without uBO enabled.
I'll try using the http://www.sysopt.com/forum.php link instead.
Ok, it happened again just now. Using the forum.php link, I got the "Not found" error instead of broken page icons.
Not Found
The requested URL /forum.php was not found on this server.
I disabled uBO on Waterfox Classic, and then refreshed. Then Sysopt came back up.
I ran Google Chrome with uBO enabled, and Sysopt was up.
Then I ran Firefox, and Sysopt was down. I left uBO enabled and just kept refreshing. Sysopt came up on about the 5th refresh.
Do the ads change? Maybe certain ones cause the error? It's really hard to pin this one down.
Same "not found" error on and off.
I wasn't able to get in a whole evening last night European time.
Right now I was able to get in.
Someone please grab a screenshot of the "broken page icon."
I'm able to get in here for the first time today.
All it says is this:
Not Found
The requested URL /forum.php was not found on this server.
404 error for last 24 hours.
Here's one Steve, from Mark, over in the other thread: http://www.sysopt.com/showthread.php...=1#post1513948
SysOpt was down again this morning for me.
I stop by here off and on all day and have not had any problems:confused:
Ditto. Don't know what the problem might be. Maybe one of the ads?
4:30 pm EDT for ten minutes. With Vivaldi/Chrome browser, incognito/private mode, ad blocker off, Java Script off.
Same here using IE11.
404 error all day long. At the best I'm able to get in once a day like right now.
When you can't get in to SysOpt.com, does it make any difference of you try via this link?
It doesn't matter. Your link doesn't work either.
However I just found out that if I disconnect wifi on my phone I can get in. This is how I'm replying right now. It looks like there is something about my internet provider here in Poland. Even changing my IP to the US doesn't help.
OK - are you now on the phone or a wired computer?Quote:
However I just found out that if I disconnect wifi on my phone I can get in.
If you disconnect the WiFi (i.e., your InternetServiceProvider) on your phone, that would mean you are connecting to the internet via your cellphone provider's celltower wouldn't it?
As I said wired desktop in all browsers gives me 404 error....my phone IF connected to wifi same thing...however if on my phone I disconnect wifi and I use just cellphone provider connection I can get in. Very weird
Sounds like your ISP assigned IP Address might be blocked somewhere between you and SysOpt.com. While wired, what happens if you go to http://anonymouse.org/ and try accessing http://www.sysopt.com through them?
It was down again for me this morning.
When SysOpt.com is down for you, you can check to see if it is just you or everyone here:
anonymouse doesn't work either
The developers need SPECIFIC information from you guys that are experiencing outages... (Broni's issue is now known)
Please post exact times you tried to access the site and couldn't... They aren't seeing anything in the server logs...
EDIT: - and which error are you seeing?
Exact times are not known. However, approximate times are every day from about 9:30 am to 11:00 am MDT. Note that this is from a work computer where all internet access is through a proxy server. I have not yet tried it from a home computer at those hours. Access is normally available from the work computer though, and I don't think they would be blocking anything or applying updates at those hours.
Sometimes if I disable uBlock Origin and do a refresh, Sysopt will come back up. At other times, I have to close the browser and then reopen/refresh.
For now, I'll keep Sysopt whitelisted in uBO. I'll try to keep track of the exact times.
And are you two guys getting the 404 error? (sorry to ask - there's so many posts)
Yes, I'm getting the 404 with http://www.sysopt.com/forum.php
It's really sporadic for me. Just disabling uBO doesn't always work, but restarting the browser (Chrome, Firefox, Waterfox Classic) has more success.
404 error for me also.
