I don't want to use seagate diskwizard utility for 33 gb limit. My BIOS is:
BIOS Date: 07/20/98
BIOS Type: Award Modular BIOS v4.51PG
BIOS ID: 07/20/1998-i430TX-3C-2A59IV3GC-00
Chipset: Intel Triton 430TX rev 1
Superio: LGS Prime 3C rev 0 found at port 398h
I found the BIOS upgrades but this limit wasn't broken. What can I do? :confused :(
It's a bug in Award BIOS (fixed 6/99), driver software won't help you get around it anyway. Like it or not, the only way to get a large drive to work on this mainboard is putting it onto an add-on PCI IDE adapter card. When attached to the mainboard's own IDE channels, BIOS will always hang when trying to figure out the drive.
