five or six beeps usually means a memory problem, perhaps it is incompatible with that motherboard.
Get a refund on the RAM and order the correct type from crucial or kingston.
:( it is supposed to be compatible with the motherboard, it says so in manual.
:( just checked memory and the serial no.i.e.n2ds2568obt-5t(elixir) IS supported as i checked it out on MSIwebsite, could this be a problem with running it with 266mhz processor?
:) memory is in and running but iam not sure it is running at 400mhz rate. Iwas in sisoft 2004 and these are the specs:
chipset1
model:nvidia.corp.nforce2
fsb 2x133mhz(266mhz data rate)
width 64bit
memory module:nanya m2u25664ds88b3g-5t 256 8x(32x8)ddr sdram pc3200u(cl0 up to 200mhz).
not sure what it is running at it seems to me it is running at 266mhz rate. any help most welcome.
266 seems a little high for 3200..
Are the modules firmly planted in the sockets??
Does your Mobo call for ECC registerd or NON-ECC ...?
Possibility of bad memory..always..it happens!
 266 rate seems low to me.2x133.doesnt support eec memory .
266 is low, pc3200 will run at 400mhz.
 am i missing something in the bios?
count the number of beeps exactly, we are all assuming it's memory, but it could be the processor or vid card perhaps.
It shoul dbe able to cope with a 266 fsb processor, and then the memory speed would be a factor of that fsb, say synchronous, and it would run at 266, or 3/2 would give 400mhz for example.
Count the beeps and check the error codes.
