Best location for Wireless Router
I'm wanting to set up wireless in a large building (15,000+ sqft) with two floors can I just plug my wireless router into a network jack or does it need to plug into a hub.
I think on the second floor would be best but want to be sure.
Going to be using the Netgear N900 Wireless Dual Band Gigabit Router (WNDR4500).
Will test with NetStumbler for coverage.

actually you want a Access point as you r wireless is behind a router so you would have to kill the DHCP in the wireless.

Not sure what you mean. I have a wireless router pluged into a network hub on the first floor right now with poor coverage. I want to put the new router on the second floor to get better coverage, all I have available are network jacks on the second floor If I plug into one of these your saying I'll have to disable DHCP?

Yes that was what I was saying. See the first router will assign ip numbers to all computers and when you have 2 routers , with both passing out IP numbers, you will not get anything done and have a complete mess. I forgot just one, and only that one time.
And I hope you ment switches and not hubs too.
