Win Pro XP Install problem

An Error has been encountered that prevents Setup from continuing.
One of the components that Windows needs to continue setup could not be installed.

ERROR:
sxs.dll:Syntax error in manifest or policy file
"D:\I386\asms\6000\msft\windows\common\controls\co ntrols.man" on line 0.

Can someone please fill me in in to what this may be.

I'm not an XP expert, but that looks like an error in the file on the cdrom. I think you might want to get in touch with MS.

Thanks for your answer but it did install properly last year....
