    Network Card problem

Ok I can set my ip of my card and it changes fine ex 10.0.0.1 and the subnet to 255.255.255.0
    i have a linksys 10/100 pci card
A friend of mine has a bult on card onto his soyo dragon plus and it will not allow me to change its ip or subnet? Any one know why? I have tried a clean install of windows me (which included a format) there isnt but 1 bios option for this card and that is on or off.

    Can anyone help?

Do you mean that you can't set a manual IP and subnet in Windows? That would be odd. Have you tried new drivers?

Long shot, but what about on the motherboard itself?
It's better to burnout than fade away!
