Monitor temporarily white transluscent!
Hello.
My monitor, every once in a while, will turn a bright and transparent white, with diagonal lines running across it.
So far, it's happened only in windows.
Then, it goes away.
Anyone know what's causing it?
It is a E790 Viewsonic 19" monitor, less than a year old.
Any ideas? Thanks in advance.

Have you tried to make it happen? Try playing with the cable... Where it connects to the monitor, AND video card.
How often is every once in a while? Try timing it. You might find that it happens close to five minutes after turning it on each time.
You're also still under warranty, so why not call tech support?

I'm afraid I can't put a finger on it, as far as when it happens and why.
It doesn't seem to be related to the power supply, and there doesn't seem to be any pattern as to when it occurs or for how long.
Like you said, it IS under warranty, so I think I'll go that route.
Hopefully, it's the monitor and not the video card, because if it's the video card, the manufacturer will probably figure out a reason I'm culpable and refuse to replace it (because I used 3rd party software for tweaking it).
