Opinions on Compaq V70 monitor?

I have the opportunity to buy a used Compaq V70 17inch monitor for 50$CDN (30$US).

I play some 3d games (my system is Athlon XP 1.4 +Voodoo3000), but I use it mostly for windows applications and sound editing.

I got this info on the net but I dont know enough about monitors to make a decision:

SPECIFICATIONS: 17-inch Invar shadow-mask tube (0.28-mm dot pitch), 1,024-by-768 maximum recommended resolution (85-Hz refresh), 1,280-by-1,024 maximum resolution(60-Hz refresh).

I am wondering if this is still an ok quality screen, until I have enough $ to buy a better one?

Grab that puppy! It's one of the few products that Compaq ever offered (other than Deskpros and Proliant servers) that was decent.

It will serve you well, depending on it's condition.
