Blue screen in 3d Mark 2000
Whenever I run 3d mark2000 it gives me the dammed old blue screen. It only happens when I get to the helecopter high detail. Have no idea why. I was getting good frames. About 30-40 then it pops up with the "We have to shut down windows" blue screen. I hate having to push the power button to turn off the comp. Aynone know why this happens?
Thanx

The main reason this could be happening is because the computer could be overheating.
Look inside your computer and make sure the heatsink and fan are properly on your CPU and video card.

Sure that your GPU is being OCed. If I OC too high my GPU, I have a lockup, when I use the helicopter test in the middle, or high detail, mostly on the end of the test, even if 3DMark2001 run perfectly. The cause is the overheating. Reduce your GPU's speed only by 5MHz, and you'll fing your system stable as a rock, with only 20-30 3DMarks less.

My comp is not OCed. And Its not overheating either. Because after I hit the power button and go straight into bios it read 44'C. And thats about what it normally reads.

OK I finally got it too run through the whole test. I can only do the test if I had just turned on my comp and it is at 35'C. When it is done my temp is about 41'C. I don't know why it still does it sometimes and not other times.

Try to underclock your system, including CPU and GPU, and leave your case open to ensure that it is not a temp too high.

How come I don't have this problem in 3d Mark 2001?

I didn't have too... Don't know why... Maybe a modified 3D engine.
