Northwood vs. XP 2000 : Speed Trials on a Linux System

Well well looks like AMD comes out on top AGAIN. AMazing at such a lower clock speed it still wins.

    Northwood VS Athlon XP

This should silence a lot of arguments about the P4. Even with .13 micron architecture and more cache, the P4 still loses to a much slower MHZ rated and older architecture Athlon XP. If the situation were reversed i.e. the Athlon was running at 2.2ghz, and the P4 was running at 1.67ghz and still beating the Athlon, the Intellian's would be laughing there a** off at us. Well the situation is not reversed, so I'm laughing at you P4 fans. Your top dog CPU runs at over 500mhz faster clock speed and still gets smoked in most benchmarks by the much slower Athlon XP. Intel, give it up. And $150 P4 gamer, here's more proof that the Pentium 4 is the retard of CPU's. wallie_x

    Athlon XP Smokes Northwood

When you’re in a fight who pulls punches? Intel certainly doesn't, even with its fallacious propaganda. Who continues to perpetuate the "MHZ = Performance " myth? Infidel, I mean Intel. Who with their utter ruling the advertising media airwaves controls the mind set of uneducated about computers ignorant America? If Intel was interested in perpetuating education about CPU's then they would halt their fallacious propaganda blitz; but since when in exploitative capitalism has truth ever had any foothold in advertising?
I simply deplore decadence in macro society's obsession with the bottom line i.e. the almighty $$$$. Intel's BS TV ads are no exception. And like I said, if the situation were reversed Intellian's would be laughing us off the planet for our stupidity in backing such an obvious loser CPU. wallie_x
