GF3 Ti200 drivers /problems
I have a new PNY GF3 and I think the driver that I installed is 2.1.8.8 from the CD that came with the card.
My system is
AMD XP 1700
512M DDR RAM
Biostar M7VIB mobo
Win XP (FAT 32, not NTFS) edited... I have XP professional ed, not home
I had 2 lock ups & 1 CTD last night and the XP message box that popped up said the Ti200 most likely caused the problem and asked if I wanted to send a report to Microsoft.
What is the best driver? Where should I get it? At www.nvidia.com it lists XP/2000 and XP 64 bit under the download drivers menu. Which do I want?
Also, in one game I noticed the mouse pointer would sometimes get stuck and move very little laterally. I have an optical mouse and it works perfectly well except the occasional sticking in Giants.
Thanks, Jim

You only wan't to use the 64bit for xp pro other than that you can try using any of the detenator drivers. I usually use this link.
www.3dchipset.com
The newest one out it the 23.11 driver It's pretty good, some people have had problems with it. Personally it brought my 3dmark up 300 points. If it still gives you trouble try and older version.

The version that I use with the exact same card is 21.83. You can get it at the Nvidia site under downloads/WinXP then choose driver archive on the top left..

Hi Jim0322,
I assume you mean the 21.88 drivers, right?
I'm running them in Windows Me without issue right now (tried XP for two weeks then went back to ME).
Question:
Your errors, what were you doing when they popped up? 2D apps (surfing, word processing, etc.)? 3D apps (games...which one), other?
This may help troubleshoot your problem because it may be driver related or it could be hardware related. Examples:
--Are there IRQ conflicts?
--Did you have a previous video card in your system before adding the GF3? If so did you make sure to remove ALL references to the old drivers?
There's a few other things that may cause this but it's best to start with the obvious.
Good Luck
Regards,
JeffD
