56k Prodigy disconnect me every 8 hrs
I´m a 56K user of an unlimited internet service provided by Prodigy Telmex (México City).
Every 8 hrs i get disconnected and got interrupt my current downloads,etc.
Prodigy tells me that the reason of this is that my modem gets reset..(???) when while ago i was trying AOL and i was never disconnected like now.
I think it´s a company trick to charge more calls to my bill.
And recently i´m starting to get disconnected about 5-10 times a day!
Is there a way to avoid this the disconnection from my internet provider?
I ´ve downloaded "stay connected" & "stay Alive" softwares but i think they are not going to work cause my problem it´s not the inactivity problem.

I had that problem with my ISP a few months ago. They recently upgraded their equipment and the problem disappeared.
I used a Download manager to prevent losing hours of downloads.
