    HELP!!! FPS SUX on 3DMark2001

    hi, i just ran a bench mark on 3DMark2001 and on the first benchmark, my fps was staying at about 8!!! i got a GeForce 2 MX400 with the latest det. drivers. it was working well yesterday, anyone know what could be the problem?

    for a start the GF2 MX400 isn't all that great anyway, but you should be getting higher FPS.
    I have heard that the 23.11 drivers don't like Via chipsets, and in most cases are much slower than older versions.
    When you installed the card did you set it up correctly in the BIOS (i.e. aperture size = 256, AGP Drive strength, Fast write.....) That could and will make the difference.

    Drivers for your motherboard are important - make sure you download the latest, check for patches for everything.

    I don't personally have a GF (KyroII), but a mate had all sorts of problems running the detanator drivers - in the end he installed the drivers that came with the card - much improved performance.

    well, first of all, i have tried all different drivers, i have the latest m/board driver.

    but the thing that bothers me the most is that it was woring fine yesterday!!!
