Extremely Low Geforce 2 Pro Q3 benchmark

This is my first post, so first of all, Hello everyone.
These are the results I get from Quake 3 demo001 and demo002 benchmarks, which seem _much_ lower than those I find online for other Geforce 2 Pro cards. Here are the results:

    Demo001_1024x768 @ 32_Max Quality: 29.8 fps
    Demo002_1024x768 @ 32_Max Quality: 30.9 fps

    And here are my specs:

    Abit KG7
    1.3 g thunderbird oc'd to 1.46g
    256mg pc2100 crucial
    20 gig Maxtor 54000 rpm
    Inno3d Geforce 2 Pro 64mb DDR
    Windows 2000 professional.

Anyone else think these results are low?

First of all, welcome to sysopt.

Your score is going to depend on your graphics card settings as well as the other components in your system. Settings, such as antialiasing, anisotropy, vsync...are all good settings for good visual effects, but they require extra horsepower from the gpu. If you turn off all the good stuff, you can get you score higher.

Also, the detonator version will have a big effect on FPS. A lot of folks on this forum are having problems with the 23.11 drivers.

<grins> Thanks for the response. I realized that I'd used GTU tweak to set the graphics settings to maximim detail - when I set it to fast mode my fps rose to about 120.

Install the 22.80 drivers and see if it goes up again. Also, my personal gripe with benchmarking, who wants to play a game with all the eye candy turned off? Turn it back on!!!!

I most definately agree with you on that one. I crank all the eye candy settings as high as they'll go. I'll see if the new drivers give it a boost.
