    Audigy Platinum and Home Stereo

I am plannig a home theater system, a p4 with an all in wonder radeon 8500 hooked into the tv and the audigy plugged into the yamaha home theater tuner (rx620, I think it is) with the klipsch quintet speakers.
Do all versions of the audigy come with that panel of connections? Do I need that panel of connections? Is there a alternative card from another manufacturer I should look at?

check that out. That is a review from toms hardware on 6 high-end sound cards that won't blow ur budget. It's a good read.

And no, not all audigy cards come with the extra connections, the Value version doesn't. You probably don't even need it.

the audigy has a couple of lines out:
    - Front Stereo
    - Rear stereo
    - Digital/Analogue (6 ch/sub)

    The specs are here: http://soundblaster.com/products/audigyde/specs.asp

If your stereo system is only stereo and not surround, then even a low end sound card would do the trick.

    good luck
