    WIN2K FTP SERVER

    Hi!

I'm trying to run win2k's ftp server out of my house and I'm getting some spotty results. Sometimes I can log on and sometimes not.
I've got DSL with a static IP, I'm using a linksys cable/DSL router.

I've set it up to allow anonymous logins, but everytime I try to log in anonymously it keeps asking for a user/pass.

Another strange bit, I was once able to log in anonymously from my work machine, but when I logged out and logged back in from a friends machine I couldn't get in.

I'd really like to be able to access files at home from my work machine... thanks for any input.

    Is this the right forum?

Maybe you need to try a user friendly server.

    Check out BulletFTPServer or Serv-U
    www.bpftpserver.com
    www.serv-u.com

They both are very inexpensive but a little mouse told me that if you type the name and version of the program into astalavista.box.sk you'll magically receive a key generator.

Under Administrative Tools, click on Internet Information Server. Under the proper computer name , right click on Default FTP site and left click on Properties. Check to see of it is using IUSR_(computername) as the user id for anonymous login. You can change it to any valid user id on that system.
