i think it works best if you sand down the existing paint first, then primer it.

The best paint to use is Epoxy! Thant's what they use on kitchen appliances. Sand it down good with about a 120 grit paper and then finish off with 220 and then 400. Rub it down good with paint thinner, let it dry good and then spray it. Remember to keep a "wet edge" as you paint. Also give it at least 2 coats, 3-4 are even better!

what do you mean by wet edge?

The "wet edge" is just that, as you're spraying, the portion you painted is wet, the other is dry. To get the best results, spray in an arch, back-and-forth (let go of the button at the end of each strock) at least 12 inches away, 14 inches is better. If you notice part of the edge drying faster then the rest, hit it again, but be careful not to get runs. To practice, go to WalMart and get a cheap can of gloss and paint a cardboard box. Epoxy paint is expensive, around $4.00 a spray can, and depending on the size of your case, could take 2-3 cans per coat. Once hard, it is real tough and can take a little abuse.

After you sand it wipe it down with mineral spirits on a rag untill you get no more dust off of it.do two light coats then one "wet edge" coat.Wait 1/2 hour between coats.A mid tower case should take 2 cans. barry
