Direct X 8.1

Has anyone noticed markedly lower 3D Mark 2001 scores after installing DX 8.1 from DX 8.0? My scores are way off, by nearly 50%. Of course there's no way to uninstall 8.1, and M'soft doesn't even offer 8.0 for DL anymore. Maybe I need to upgrade my Detonator v. 12.90 driver to the 21.xx. Had everything working just fine before! That's progress.

Drivers were the culprit. 3DMark2001 default score up tp 3990 using Det v. 21.83 driver. Default score 1366 using v. 1290 driver.
