What OS are you running? The newest nVidia drivers acted funny for me in Win2000, but they work well for me in XP Pro.

    Hey

The best ge-force det. drivers i have used so far are the 12.90's. They provide good fps in games and a rock solid performance overall. you can get them at www.guru3d.com. Also i am using them on a Elsa ge-force 2 mx400

I'm using v12.90 in Win98SE and v22.80 in WinXP. GeForce2 Pro, but should be the same for all other cards.

    Best Regards ...

i tried the 22.80, they froze right away in the first game i played. i guess i'll stick with 12.90 for win2k

I also have a Hercules 3D Prophet 2 MX card and am running WinXP Pro. My motherboard is a Tyan Trinity S1590 100 AT utilizing the VIA MVP3 chipset. AMD K-6(3) 450 MHz CPU and 256 MB PC-100 SDRAM. I have the latest VIA 4-in1 drivers installed (which only installs the 'inf driver' on XP systems, btw), the newest AGP miniport driver (4.10) from VIA and am using the DetonatorXP 21.83 drivers for my card. I have no problems with any of the games i play (Half-Life, Q3A, UT ... well, you get the point ...
I cannot vouch for their true performance, as i suspect i am just about CPU limited in the amount of polygons this card pushes when matched with this CPU. I am happy to report that i noticed about a 5 fps increase while playing Counter-Strike after installing these drivers (was previously using the 21.81 drivers). Hope this helps you in deciding which version of drivers to use on your card.

I have a GF2MX 200 and used the manufactors drivers as opposed to the Nvidia 22 series. But i have just got the 23.11 and WHAT a difference it makes. my 3DMark scored have increased by 1/3 from 900-1000 to 1200, and games nowrun around 25% faster.
