    Awesome Hardware-Slow Performance

To start here is the specs:

Gigabyte Via KT266A (Via's Latest Drivers)
    Athlon XP 1800+
PNY Geforce 3 Ti 500 (Detanator XP Drivers)
    Soundblaster Live (Latest Drivers)
    523 MB PC2100 Micron RAM
Direct X 8.1 (Same scores with the older version)
    Windows 2000 SP2

    3dMark 2001 score: 4800 (Default Benchmark)

Ok now I have seen scores with similar hardware in 3dMark2001 in the 7 to 8k range. What am I doing wrong here?

i would check and make sure that your video card drivers are right, and just a little question, how much money did that beauty system cost you?

    Ok I was stupid

I just reinstalled the 4in1 Drivers and it jumped my score in 3dMark 2001 to 8060 at default. It cost me 450 dollars for the MB, Processor and RAM. And I got the card yesterday for 280 dollars at Electronics Boutique using my brothers employee holiday discount.

Your score will depend on what features are enabled in your detonator drivers. Check to make sure the anisotropic setting is off, anti-aliasing is off and the vsync is off. Of course, these features is what makes the image look their best at the cost to performance.
