HELP this is impossible
My DVD rom wont detect any cd's....period. Im using an Aopen DVD - 1648/AMH. The system detects it and says it working "properly" but it wont detect ANYTHING! Windows device manager says it dosent need any drivers.... and it configures itself by itself. I tried removing it from the device manager and rebooting so it would "reconfigire" istelf but still nothing. I recently reformated my HD and therefore eraing the drivers that i thought were there.... but when i stablized my system again, the system detected it and set it up by itself... it didnt even give that "new hardware detected" box, but it wont detect ANY cd's!!
HELP me this is really getting to me.
peace.

Might try cleaning the lens with a can of air or cleaning kit might help, if its old or well used then it would certainly help.
