Planning on buying a DDR video card (ATI Radeon 7000 DDR 32MB) and was wondering if I will have any compatibility issues with my board not being DDR (ABIT BH-6)? TIA
in a way i guess you could say there is, ATI cards have s*** video drivers so they suck major *** and they are a total rip off. any other questions?
and no there will be no compadability issues, the DDR on the vid card is not related to a DDR accepting mobo, just as long as the AGP slot doesnt max out in terms of bandwidth, the video card will run at full speed with no problems (except the problem of ATI drivers)
hey dude you seem to have big time problems with ati....i've had an ati card for ages...no problems...
ok they are not he quickest to sort problems and get new drivers out, but unless your a speed freak that has to tune and tweak to get the last fps out of his/her card, then you dont have a problem.
I freely adnmit their multimedia is a waste of space but as far as game performance they are just as good as the competition..just dont go getting caught up in tweaking the hell out of your card...i dont see why everyone has to overclock and try and burn out their chipsets just for a few more frames per sec...seems dumb after spending your hard earned cash (usually in the 100's) trying to get a few extra frames for a £30-40 game...
Oh well thats my penneth...D
ps i'd get the card!!!
If your graphic card has a DDR memory, then it is the problem of your graphics card. Not the Motherboard. The DDR support in Motherboard refers only to your main memory SDRAM.
