    3dMark2001 Identical scores

I get the same framerates and scores in 1024 x 764 as I do in 640 x 480. Why is this so? I am running XP. Does this limit graphics speed in any way?.

    System:
Intel P3 733, Windows XP Home, Hercules 3d Prophet GeForce 3, 384 Mb memory, Nvidia 22.80 drivers

It could be possible that either your 640X480 resolutions is stuffed, your 1028X780 resolution is stuffed or your video card can support them at the same speed.

Check how many Hz (refresh rate) both resolutions are running at and try re-installing the drivers if you want.

If could be possible that your 640X480 is running at 100Hz and the 1028X480 is at 56Hz and 100 is faster which would balance them out.

In my opinion, the problem is that you have too weak CPU.
As we know, GeForce3 cards are extremely fast, and they slow down only in VERY hi-res.
But your pentium do not load your GPU with so big quantity of data that your card can handle. Because of CPU your card isn't working on i't's maximum force. I it just limited by a limited rate of commands, being sent from your processor. Try to upgrade to PIII Tualatin or Athlon (the last is very warm, so I do not recommrnd it, as I do not recommend P4 - it's Intel's fault, - 'cause it is slower). If you get an 1.3-1.7GHz CPU and, if you want, you'll overclock it (with presence of mind, of course), than you'll notice bigger speeds (may be up to 3-4 times !!!). And you'll notice that in different resolutions your results differ one from another ('cause your card in loaded very highly with 3D-data).
