Is it true gold CD-Rs ............
Hello - Is it true gold CD-Rs are the best writable cds? If I burn one on my PC for use in my car would I be better off with the gold CD-Rs? If this is all correct, what brand makes gold CDRs? And what brand would you recommend? The reason I'm asking is that someone told me CDs created on a PC might not play very well on my regular CD player or in my car. Is this true? Thank you.

do some research...I have no problem with Imations and have burned some generics that worked just as well...find a brand that works well with your software and hardware setup and stick with them....buy in bulk and save

They don't necessarily burn better, they just last longer. The normal shelf life of a silver or blue cd is around 10 years, if memory serves me correctly. The gold cds have up to a 50 year life span. This is if they are kept out of direct sunlight before burning them.
