    "System Busy" message ?????

Please help me with following problem:

    The system consist of:

    Epox 8KTA2 MB
    256 Meg memory
    40 GB Samsung Hardrive
    ATI Viedo Card
    800 Thunderbird CPU

When I try to X out of programs I get the following message:

    "SYSTEM BUSY"
"System is busy waiting for the Close Program dialog box to be displayed. You can wait and see if it appears or you can restart you computer.

Press any key to return to window and wait.

Press CTRL+ALT+DEL again to restart your computer. You will lose unsaved information in all programs that are running.

    Press any key to continue."

No matter what you do nothing happens. You don't return to Windows or it will not restart either. The hardisk light stays on nothing happens. Sometimes if you wait long enough (long time) it will restart and run scandisk.

It don't happen all the the time but enough to be real aggravating. Any advice?????

I'm not a technician or anything, but it sounds like you may have a program leaking memory, or to many programs opened at once, slowing down your system. When it doesn't respond it is trying to catch up. Try shutting off all unnecessary programs, and see what happens.

We had the same problem last week on one of the office comp's
    OS is Win98.

It happend when ever we tried to access files in MS Works or Excel.

We found that there was at least 1 corrupt dll file and had to do
an uninstall and reinstall of both Win98 and Office97.

Problem was solved. Hope this helps you. :)

I'd go with typing msconfig in the run box go to startup tab and uncheck everything except systray and the 2 loadpowerprofiles and for now see if same thing happens this time around.
