Direct 3D animation
Say I am using VC++6 to write (yes I said write) a area with an auto opening door using Direct Graphics technoligy (version 8.0). Well easy (but tiresum:o), all I must do is work out on the piece of paper the measurements and code in the polygons.
Now I think I know this but I just wana' get it right, so if any of this is wrong... It would be a big help if you could tell me (This is my first time using Direct X, you see).
OK. Now what I think I am ment to do is:
================================================== ==========================================
Write multiple versions of the doors position in 3D space and save them in memory allocated from the memory pool.
If the program recives a command to accelerate his/her character then first check if their is anything in front of him/her (if the answer is yes continue).
Check if it is the door (if yes continue), (if no stop player movement).
Load the open version of the door and wait for the next buffer update. The door now appears to be open.
if player tells program to move his/her character forward, acceletate character through newly opened space.
================================================== ==========================================
OK, there is no code here (what so ever!) but if the theroy is right then all I must do is design a program to perform this.
