    poll: Honest Opinions Only... :)

    I have an Amd Athlon 1.3ghz 200mhz Bus, with 512mb pc133 sdram, and a Pny Verto Geforce3.
I want your honest opinion about this, is my system slow or is it average or is it fast?

software: windows 98se, via 4 in 1 4.34v (latest), detonator 21.83 version (latest)

    ** RESULTS: **

    GL EXPRESS =
    4783 (1024x768x32)

    SI SOFT SANDRA =
    CPU ALU: 3626 FPU: 1784
    MULTIMEDIA INTEGER: 7107 FLOATING: 8844

    3DMARK 2001 =
    5356

now, is my 3dmark 2001 result good? i should be getting a higher score ... i think the problem is the type of ram i have... ?

Yes, it seems like they are. The 266 cpu makes a difference, also the CAS 2 latency Micron SDRAM, which is set to "faster" setting (6-2-2) in BIOS. I'm using a Swiftech MCX-370 OA heatsink w/ a Pabst fan. CPU temp has never gone beyond 44C, runs at 42C when running games, 38C during idle. Only using one front 80mm case fan right now. A second rear fan should help a little.

Your scores are are up there. Might try tweaking BIOS memory settings if yours allows it.

    Score could be higher

I would check into the Direct 3d settings because with that card you should be hitting at least a 7000 score in 3dmark2001. 1024x768 Pure Hardware mode which is the default in 3dmark 2001 should bench mostly on your card. Granted the processor is still used. If you have a VIA chipset on your motherboard I would update the 4in1 Via drivers. Those alone brought my score up from 5000 to 8060 in 3DMARK 2001. You should also look in the Bios and increase the apeture to 256 MB also make sure you have 4X AGP enabled with Fast writes enabled. Also Mip map detail in Direct 3d can effect performance. I recommend using the blend mode. My brothers PIII system with the same card was getting similar scores so you should be getting better. I am not trying to burst your bubble but you honestly should be getting higher than that.
