    Need Bios update

I have this bios string from a motherboard which has a TXPro chipset, but Sandra Identifies it as an ALi M1531. Anyone have any idea where to look for a bios update? String is: 51-0505-001437-00111111-071595-m1531/43-001_10_TXPRO_H
    Thanks

I think your best bet is to look for the FCC ID on the mobo then go to the FCC site and look for the manufacturer: www.fcc.gov/oet/fccid/.....use fcc id on card to get manufacture name

    I believe that may be a PCChips M560 ?
does it look like this board >> http://venus.spaceports.com/~canada/...chips/m560.htm
    or
    http://www.interwb.com/mb560.html

BTW- I would be 100% sure you have the correct MB ID and BIOS before flashing. IMO PCChips are one of the MOST mis-flashed boards out there!Their numbering system is prone to misidentification. (intentional maybe..lol)
It is No wonder they call there bios support a Lottery..hehe

    Oh,
And Make sure you save the Old Bios to floppy when flashing the new BIOS. (it will be a option in the flash procedure) That way, if something goes wrong w flash, you can have someone reprogram your BIOS eeprom with that known working BIOS. Hopefully you will never need it, but ya never know!

Nathan G, man you are a life saver. I've been trying to figure out what board that was for about 4 months now. It's on I had laying around spare that I put together for my mom, and now I'm hoping the bios upgrade will let it accept a k6-2 so I can get that Winchip off of it.
