    Compiling HTML

    I am not sure if this can be done. Is it possible to compile a HTML page? I've noticed files with the CFM extension running IE when ever clicked.

    Also is it possible to include images into HTML code whether compiled or not? I don't mean links to files(images) but actually including the images in HTML. Ie.- one huge HTML file.

    What I am trying to do is compile or create HTML pages with pictures of the family for my mother who is out of state. I can easily burn a CD and send to her. I've tried creating CD's of html pages with the links but I seem to think there should be an easier way. Any ideas?

    CFM files are for Cold Fusion (database web software similar to asp) its only loading IE because of file association.

    What you are describing is impossible html code is just code for displaying text etc.

    You simply have to put all the files on CD html and images and then makesure you create hrefs and src tags to correspond to non specific drives for example:

    create the page index.html and images 1.jpg, 2.jpg and 3.jpg

    place all images in a folder called images and then your html code for index.html will need to look like this:

    <a href="images/1.jpg">Image One</a>

    or

    <img src="images/1.jpg">

    If you had two folders, one called images and one called html and stored the html pages in html folder you would need to do this to access the images:

    <a href="../images/1.jpg">Image One</a>

    or

    <img src="../images/1.jpg">

    I hope this helps?

    Wrong! The format I was looking for comes from HTMLHelp.exe. It is a help system compiler that can compile HTML docs and images into a single file that can load IE. I've now played around with it and am proceeding to creating some CFM files for friends and families.

    Thanks for the imput though!
