Well, I've just e-mail Gus that I resign from the MOD position and it looks like I'll be getting the boot soon as well...

I deleted it.
I don't have any problems with people saying goodbye but I do have a problem with people using this forum to launch a competitive business.

It's a shame... I hope the "new" SysOpt doesn't forget that WE make the message board worth while not YOU the owners...

If you never try anything new,
you will miss out of some of life's many disappointments...

Wait a sec.....
Scott deserves some of the credit for this current situation.
I mean, he was the one who SoldOut to Earthweb. (for a rather large chunk of change i would add...poor guy)
Will he "sellout" again when the next site becomes popular?
If you own a Co. (site) and you sell it,what do you think is going to happen to you when times get tight?
This may sound tough, but this site (along with the database of posts on forum that we made) was sold to Earthweb by Scott some time ago. Would he do it again. I guess we will see.
BTW- No disrespect meant to you Scott! (this is the facts, the way i see emm... anyhow)
Regards,
Nathan G.

Gus you have mail
Gus,
I will keep it professional. You have email. I'm sorry that you felt that my including a simple link that explained why I would not have time to continue Administrating at SysOpt was a threat to you and SysOpt.
I also stated in my letter of resignation to you that I would still like to visit sysopt as I have/had enjoyed my time that I served the membership here but I would do so in a MEMBER status and not in a Administrative status.
I only post this to keep the truth out in the open.
Thank you and I look forward to your reply concerning my questions/concerns in the email I sent you.

Well, I think if you were a regular contributor, you might see it differently,, instead of just occasional.

Of course SysOpt is a community with many members. And like many other communities that are supported by a business, some times, business issues intrude into the community activities.
In this case, the former owner is trying to steal the community. He's completely free to start his own site and make it as appealing as possible. But I wouldn't be so crass as to go over there and promote SysOpt.com -- if his site is good, he'll find an audience.
As to this community, I believe it will continue to get stronger. But I can't sit back and let people imply they are acting like their are interested only in the community when they are simply trying to promote a new business.

I understand your not wanting links to the new forum in here, but doing a blanket convert isn't right. If we can link to Anandtech.com or Tomshardware.com, what's wrong with linking to *******.com?
OR EVEN SAYING THE <BLEEP> NAME?
