hhmm, didn't do didly for me! just a black window, then it closed!
I think(and most likely) its crappy drivers on my end due to the diampond viper2... oh well, I probably would have said "neat", closed it a quarter of the way thru, and deleted it!

    but, thats just me...

might try again sometime if the thread resurfaces and I feel like changin drivers...

    cyas...

That is impressive!! I just ran it for a tech I know. I asked him what he thought and his take was that it is an impressive demostration of vector graphics. Like he said its probably about a thousand lines of script.
    Whatever, it is sharp!

    Bring on some more!

Question..... When I run this I notice my cable modem going crazy. Are you all sure that all of the graphics are contained in the app and not download as a streaming video?

I have DX8 installed and I keep getting the same DX ERROR. I looked on the web page and found nothing on it. Does anyone else have any ideas?

Ok this is like the 4th topic about this demo, so yeh, unless the page has changed it actually tells you exactly how the thing is created and is so small. Basically the entire thing is just code, no textures, no sounds no nothing except for code. In that code is a cd quality sequencer (what makes the sound), the data needed to generate all textures (done by your CPU at runtime), and all objects rather than being made by complex 3d models are actually basic models (cube, cylinder, cone etc...) which then have modifiers applied to them to give the more complex shapes without the bloated code. From my memory it basically moves 1.9Gig of data thru your system (sound data, texture data, 3d model data etc......) from just that 65k file. If you want more info about what it does and how i am sure it is found on the website. Also you can wait till the very end and read all off that **** they type at the end just to fill up space to make it go to the 65k! From memory it sat about 62.5k before they typed the **** or something.

Well it runs on my kids computer, which is not connected to the internet. As far as how they do it, I have no idea, but I like it

Actually, an old topic from 07-22-2001.
Look at my posts, I've explained pretty much everything.

Sorry to poop on your party, but this demo requires DX8 for a reason. If it was an independent demo, it would be much larger than 64K. Most of the 3d work here is done by DX8. If this demo was independent, it would take up several MB. Nevertheless it is quite impressive.
