A marketing company trying to determine if computers should be referred to in the masculine or feminine gender polled control groups of men and women and asked them to state 3 reasons for their decision:
The women decided that computers were masculine and gave the following reasons:
1.Before anything can be accomplished with a computer it must be TURNED ON.
2.While computers are supposed to solve problems, half of the time the computer is the problem.
3.Once you have committed in the purchase of a computer you soon find out that if you had just waited a couple of months a much better one would have come along.
The Men decided that the computer must be feminine because:
1.Only their creator can possibly understand the internal workings.
2.Even your tiniest mistake can be stored in long term memory.
3. Once you have committed to a computer you soon find that half your income is spent on upgrades and accessories.
