    anywhere from 2250-2265
    Ge256SDR (130/176)
    512 megs PC-2100
    Athlon XP 1600
    Win '98

    I'm getting a Ti200 tomorrow, so I'll post again...

*just read the majority of this thread and it made me feel better about my old system...*

Last Saturday, I overhauled my system.
    Preoverhaul
    -Tyan Tiger 133
    -600 Coppermine
    -256 megs pc-100
    Postoverhaul
    -Gigabyte GA-7VTXE
    -Athlon XP 1600
    -512 of pc-2100
    * the guy I bought this from (I actually got all of this for VERY close to what I could have via vendor hunting on Pricewatch) swore up and down that the onboard audio would be better than my old Soundblaster pci64 (so, I threw it in as a trade).
Well he was wrong (it sucks), so I also have an audigy comin' in tomorrow as well .

Preoverhaul, I was gettin' anywhere from 1410 to 1425, so I'm guessin' that my card is givin' me a horrible bottleneck.

When did you get your board/cpu (I'm always behind the times, but I'm a tightwad )?

Heck, it's close to Christmas and felt I DESERVED this dang it!

Anyway, I'm actually excited and lookin' forward to gettin' my new sound and video cards tomorrow (ALMOST sprung for a 19", as I am looking at a 15, but then I remembered how much money I've coughed up in less than one week... )

    Update on Specs

I was in a hurry when I was typing in the specs.

It should be a Intel Pentium 4 2.0 Ghz run at 2.2 Ghz, I just took the Specs directly from 3DMARK which was shoing about 2206 Mhz.

The Graphics Card is at 280 mhz core and 600 mhz memory using the 2311 drivers on WinXP.

Dunno wasn't that long ago, maybe a month or two ago. Runs sweet dont it
I'm currently running a 17" monitor, and if i upgrade it'll prolly be to a lcd or something, but it will depend on the price and won't be for a while.
Let me know how your Audigy goes, been tempted to get one myself, current have a sblive value hooked up to my stereo. not too bad, huge improvement over my yamaha. I don't think i have ever heard any onboard sound personally that i thought was better than a slot card. In my experience with them (which is somewhat limited) they all suck.
You should get a decent 3dmark score with your ti200 (about 5000-6000+) i reckon.
Let us know how it goes.
might tempt me into getting one!!
mind you here they cost over 600 bucks

    Heh heh, check this out.

K6-III 450mhz, 128ram, 8MB ATI Rage Pro (Xpert 98) = 262 3D Marks at default. With everything off it almost doubles to 505. Laugh if you will, but when I used the compare feature on the online brower thing, the 3 other users (thats all that have my funky computer settings) scored 244, 220, and 220. So... there!

Just a very sloppy attempt so far - I'm hoping to get something set up to keep the hot air from my heatsink from blowing across the back of my video card, throw a crorb(corb?) on it, and oc my cpu. If i break 5k i'll post back and let you know how it went. Anyways as it stands I can run RTCw in 1152x864 full detail with no skipping so I'm happy.

Well, I've had quite the little adventure since yesterday.

Got home to find my Ti200 and my Audigy waitin' for me and figgered I'd put the sound card in first (put it into pci slot 5).
Installed the software and was given the option to restart...
    and my motherboard went KERPLUNK!

After some research, a call to the guy I got the mobo from, and a subsequent return call I deemed it necessary to remove the sound card from the 5th slot and put it into the 2nd pci slot (it seems that a lot of newer mobos don't like finding a sound card anywhere but).

And you guessed it, the software installation was screwed and I was installin' it to Windows '98 (minimum installation requirement for the Audigy is '98 SE, so take note!), so I began to think...
My original installation of windows had been through two previous mobos without a hard-drive wipe, and I was itchin' to have XP.
So, I went out and bought XP home upgrade, F-disked my master and installed xp.
XP is picky! A lot of things (such as my sidewinder software) just won't work, period.
But, I did get the Audigy (even has a firewire port!) and my Ti200 up and running.

So, with the addition of XP and the Ti200 (with the latest XP drivers from nVidia's site), I just scored a 6456(I was FINALLY able to run all of the tests!).

But_Why, I can't give a review of the audigy just yet, but I will in a few days once I've bonded with it a bit and can get the xp drivers installed (whenever I try to install them, I get a message saying that my card isn't detected )

Excellent!! well done. Bummer about XP though. Although i'm itchin to give it a wurl, i've heard too much bad stuff about it, and with all the incompatibilities, i'm gonna hang back and wait. 98SE is doin me just fine

Let me know how your audigy goes, one you have bonded with it
