Nice score Dimo, (and very nice system!) are you overclocking yet or is this score at stock? PS, Welcome to Sysopt.

Well, a bit more tweaking and this is what I got. Took out a stick of memory, boosted FSB to 150, memory to 200 and AGP and PCI to 66Mhz and 33Mhz respectively.

Bit more tweaking on the videocard, clocked 306MHz for the GPU and 667MHz for the memory.

    Gave me 13893

NOHTO, looks like you might be the person to ask about this type of thing:

Lian-Li PC60 Aluminium case + Akasa Accoustic Padding
CWT 550W Active Fan Control, PFC, Dual fan.
    ASUS A7V333 Motherboard
    AMD Athlon XP 1900+ @ 1692Mhz (Palomino )
    CoolerMaster HHC-L61 Copper heat-pipe 7200rpm+ delta fan (normally auto-slowed to 4500rpm using ASUS Q-fan)
    1x512Mb Corsair XMS PC3500 (434Mhz DDR) + heat spreader @352Mhz CAS2
    Hercules Radeon9700PRO 128Mb DDR @ stock speeds

Not too interested in thrashing the video card yet, but how quick shoudl I be able to get that Palomino on air-cooling?

Should I experiemnt with higher voltages or am I completely wasting my time with clocking that CPU?

    thanks,
    LostBok

I haven't OC a 1900 in a long time. I do remember OC a 1600 just recently. It was a T-bred A and I got about a 400MHZ OC out of it without trying to hard. Start your voltage off at about 1.7 and raise your speed about 5mhz at a time and run prime 95 inbetween jumps to test for stability. When it becomes unstable increase your voltage, but keep an eye on your temps and don't let them get too high. I wouldn't run it over 55C maybe 60 max, but that is pushing it.

LostBok - About that Palo... i once had a Palo 1700+ and managed to get that to 1.7 GHz on air, but it was a AGOGA stepping, and didnt like anything higher than 1.7GHz at 1.9Vcore.. temps were ok, around the 45-50°C with a volcano 7+ on high. i then decided to lend that chip to my friend and his vapochill... got it to 1.75GHz (whoopdy doo! ) and voltage didnt make any difference... so i sold that chip to another friend (on a GA-7VRXP .. i prefer my KT7A-RAID over that board) and bought a 1700+ T-Bred (A) for $5 more than i sold the other one. This T-bred hits 2.06GHz on 1.9Vcore with my V7+, and is around the 40-45°C at 100% load.
So what i say is try to hock the 1900+ off to a mate or someone else, and buy a nice cheap T-Bred and clock that one, as you get better results out of those chips....
