Don't know if this is where to post this or not, but I need help getting rid of my wininit.exe file. It is infected with the W32/MSinit.worm.b. I have tried to clean it and delete it with Mcafee, but no luck.

I'm not finding any info on McAfee's website about this virus. What version of Windows are you using?
This will all be over before you can say Cat in a Hat.

I had this one back in October. Symantec (Norton) has detailed instructions for removal HERE. Symantec calls it the W32.HLLW.Bymer worm. It takes a while to remove, but, its not too hard. Print the instructions before you start. Good luck.

    *EDIT*
McAfee information on this worm is HERE. They don't have much information on how to remove it, though. If you follow Symantecs instructions you will get rid of it.

    Praetorian, I am running W98SE
Xeroid, thanks, I'll try Norton. I had found the McAfee info about it but didn't know what to do. Thanks.
