    Slow Computer Oddities

My friend still has a mighty slow computer, but we were fiddling with Quake 3 a few days ago and we realized it runs better at a high resolution and texture quality cranked. I though it was quite strange. We tried it in a few other games like UT and even Quake2, and still it ran alot better and smoother at high resolutions like 1024x768. I figured that they would run better at lower less taxing resolutions like 640x480.

    Getting to it,
Anyone know why it would run so slowly at lower graphics settings rather than high?

    My friends specs are:

    333mhz AMD K6
    64MB PC-66 RAM
    6.2GB Maxtor HDD
    Voodoo3 o/c'd from 143 to 150.

I have a V3 and I would think that having the setting to high detail might use some of the features of the V3.

Try new drivers I use www.omegacorner.com drivers.
