    How to get into NT4.

[COLOR=royalblue][B] My company got som computers from who knows where! Anyhow, I have been tasked with getting them up and running and ready for networking as soon as our sitch arives. Problem 1- The puters that work have nt4 on them and I have know idea how to get around it. I have tried "administrator" with null password and with administrator as the password. It has two other network domains on it and of course I can't get into them. All I want to do is take of NT4 and put 2000 Pro on. I don't care about what's on the hard drive cause we are wipping them out anyhow. Does anyone have a back door? PLLLEEEAAASSSEEE Help? Also where is a good site to find info on compaq MOBO. It was built in 96 with a standard pentium processor. I have anchient equipment they want me to get running with no money. it's not even my job!

If you dont care about NT or whats on the harddrives then boot with the Win2k disk, set up a clean install and it can format for you during the install or use Partition Magic .

Yes, since losing data on the hard disk isn't a concern for you, you can also use a Win98 boot disk and delete all the partitions. You can delete the NTFS partitions by deleting the partitions labeled as "NON-DOS". After you delete all the partitions, use a Win2k CDROM to boot the system and you will come to a screen where you can create your partitions and install Win2k...

I agree...if your locally installing W2K, just boot it from the CD ( if the machines are CD boot capable ).

Another way is to use a dos diskette to boot from, and run "FDISK /MBR", then "SYS C:" ( unless they are NTFS...then just blow it all away from fdisk, and still do the fdisk /mbr to remove the nt boot sector ).
    WINDOWS 2000....Need I say more!
