    Outlook 2000

    a guy I work w/ came up to me w/ this problem. outlook 2k comes up w/ an error message stating that the password will expire in ## days. this just started happening, how do we stop this and what is it doing?

    What ISP does he have? Some, such as @home, will let you change the password at their member services page online. That is, of course, if they have one. I don't believe Outlook can receive a prompt to display a dialogue to change a password unless it's connecting via MS Exchange. Your coworker may just need to call up his ISP and have them change it then. Usually this happens because they place an expiration on passwords. I've seen this in the office where employees are connected via intranet, but I don't remember hearing about this for home users trying to get email. I'm sure it's a pain, especially if he's got to call in and wait till someone picks up and helps him, but at least his ISP is looking out for his security.
