You are asking a question that has to many variables to assimilate. Can you be more specific?

Well, I mean who makes the best quality motherboards, or the best motherboards in general.

I voted Abit, but my old Epox has never given me any trouble. Runs a Cyrix 188Mhz, 32mb RAM, 1mb vid card, 3gig HD. Never crashes more than once every two months.

umm MSI is kinda nice minus the fact that they put software out with the boards that has alot of bugs.

MSI is nice...I agree..but I haven't seen any mainboard from MSI with good overclocking distance.

Same chipset as Abit KG7, but M7MIA is minus many of the BIOS overclocking features. Mine booted up first time, no probs, but I have yet to get USB mouse to work or RAID to see any drive other than IDE hard drive(s).

Unknown if it's the mobo or what, (but running a T'bird 1.4@1.4, I can seldom get the CPU temp (mobo monitored) below 50 C, despite the fact that I have a well-rated HSF and PSU, used Arctic Silver ll, and am quickly going deaf from the Delta fan noise!

If I had it to do over again, I would probably still choose it (will know more if and when I get the USB thing resolved). One of the main reasons I got it, besides the good reviews, was b/c it has an ISA slot, which although no longer popular, was non-negotiable for my use.

Aside from the USB and RAID issues (which could be something pretty simple), it runs solid for me. It also had good documentation (although no hard copy manual), including a quick install sheet which was very helpful -- especially since this was my first scratch-built PC. :o

    I have two MSI's

    K7T Turbo limited Tbird 1200@1508

    K7T Pro 2-A Tbird 1000@1352

I think they are great for overcloking

I have 3 MSI's a PC Chips and an ABIT, I will never buy an ABIT again. I like MSI. I have worked on the Epox and I loved it! I would buy one of those. So I voted Epox, since you left MSI off.

    TYAN!

    There, I said it.

Hey, where the heck was it on your poll? Or does the most reliable manufacturer (OK, we don't count the Tiger 133) of server and workstation mobos not even count??? How about the only current shipper of dual Athlon mobos? How about the ony manufacturer to ship mobos with Serverworks, Intel, Via, and god knows how many other variants of chipsets - all successfully?

OK, the overclockability usually is limited, but for reliability there are quite a few Tiger 100s still ticking in server closets that haven't been rebooted this year...or last

Kind of wish MSI was an option, since I own 3 of them...
But since I am leaning towards the Shuttle AK31 rev.3 for the next one, I guess I will give them a vote. (Unless MSI's new K7 266a becomes available at a reasonable price....)
