I'm in need of an RJ-11 Dongle and I called them up and asked if they had one, Hehehehehe the people there didn't know what I was talking about! I explaned what it was and they still didn't have the faintest idear what I was talking about.. Searched their web site and they don't sell one anyhow..

What is a "RJ-11 Dongle"? I know some programs require a dongle to be installed but what is the use for a phone?

A dongle (pronounced DONG-uhl) is a mechanism for ensuring that only authorized users can copy or use specific software applications, especially very expensive programs. as in the cable connecting a lap top pcmcia modem to a RJ-11 wall jack {phone} new lap top modem's have a RJ-11 jack built into them.. mines an older model..

lol no problem, I was just turned onto a very cheap new pcmcia nic/modem and I'm going to get one in the morn.
Yea, the two radio fool store's we have in Burlington are a lost cause for tech info. lol I remember a while ago a customer was asking about a router, I was looking at some cb stuff, they told him he had to go to home depot for them...

A R, Thats what I was told it was called and thats what I saw it called on a web site too.

The laptop techs do not call that a dongle. It is an adapter. It is usually specific to what ever modem you are using. A generic one is probably not available that will work with YOUR modem, unless your really lucky.
