    HELP!

    Hi,

I'm looking to upgrade my system VERY soon and know that i need to upgrade my motherboard, cpu, ram and ofcourse heatsink/fan. the problem is this... I dont know whether the other compnents i have in my pc (eg. sound card, graphics card etc.) will work with the motherboard i am going to get. Please can someone help!!! Here is my pc at the moment:

PIII 500 Mhz, 128 MB RAM, Microstar ms-6119 100Mhz fsb, 32mb Matrox Millenium G400 DualHead, SB Live! 1024, Fujitsu UDMA66 17GB HDD, TDK Cyclone 12x CDRW, Pioneer 10x DVD.

I know that i have given way too much information but i want to make sure before i buy.

I am looking to buy the following:

AMD Atlon T/bird 1.4Ghz CPU, 256 (PC2100) DDR RAM, DDR 266Mhz FSB MOBO (undecided on which... any suggestions?!) with heatsink/fan.

The reason that i am unsure whether my cards will work (graphics in particular) is becuase the mobo will be DDR... does this work with non-DDR components?

    my e-mail is:
    far2yz@hotmail.com

    Thanks for your help guys.

Your components will be very happy on the new board. You should have no probs running the Matrox video card. Have a look at the Abit KG7 series mobo's. I hear nothing but great reviews of them. I would also suggest getting Crucial RAM. Can't beat the quality and price. (Free shipping till Oct. 1)
